BorgWarner will provide NMC battery programs for HOLON’s 15-person autonomous shuttle from 2027 in South Carolina
BorgWarner has secured a contract to provide battery programs to HOLON’s autonomous shuttle. This marks BorgWarner’s first provide of battery expertise for autonomous autos produced in North America.
The corporate will provide lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) battery programs for the HOLON city, a 15-person stage 4 autonomous electrical shuttle. Every automobile will characteristic two 57 kWh battery packs with cylindrical NMC cells and energetic liquid cooling.
The battery packs incorporate a modular design with built-in replaceable contactor packing containers and multi-pack controllers. The system is protected by a chrome steel battery case and meets cybersecurity and useful security necessities.
Manufacturing is scheduled to start out in Q2 2027 in Seneca, South Carolina. The battery system is Purchase America compliant and satisfies Overseas Entity of Concern (FEOC) restrictions. HOLON is an organization of the BENTELER Group.
