Nissan’s Sunderland, UK plant celebrated the beginning of manufacturing (SOP) on its newest technology Leaf on 16 December, marking the subsequent chapter within the firm’s electrification roadmap. The Leaf has turn out to be an icon because the world’s first mass-market electrical car (EV), the automobile that proved EVs can go mainstream. Talking on the SOP ceremony, Nissan’s Massimiliano Messina, Chairperson, AMIEO, commented: “From day one it was designed to interrupt down the limitations to electrical driving.” And it did. Greater than 700,000 Leafs have been offered all over the world since its 2013 launch, and the most recent model guarantees even better performance, usability and inexperienced credentials.
